Presale Questions

What do you need to make a harness?
We can work with just about any information you have! We have dealt with everything from hand sketches to full-out engineering prints. We can work with just about any time of file you can provide. Our engineers and/or our sales support would be happy to discuss your requirements. Give us a call!
Are my designs shared or distributed?
No. Confidentiality is very important to us! That is why you will not see any other customer information on our site. We will issue you an internal part number that is never shared or distributed. These part numbers allow us to track revisions as well as the status of your product from concept and engineering through production, quality control, and shipping. It is used to communicate internally to our production floor every aspect of the product so that it may be passed on to our Quality Control department. This information is stored in our dedicated internal shop floor management application.
I have an idea, but I don't know how to proceed.
Our in-house dedicated engineers can help you bring that idea to market! Allow us to make component suggestions, or help you source replacement components – we have done it all! With 7000 connectors in stock, we can provide some insight into the current market availability of certain brands and components. We can also advise what the feasibility of production is.
The part I'm looking for doesn't exist. What are my options?
With over 50 specialty part numbers currently available exclusively through CASPER’S, and more being added every month, if we don’t already have it or if we are not already making it, we CAN make it! We have in-house rapid prototyping equipment, so we can provide a proof of concept within days – not weeks or months!
Do you outsource, or contract out production?
We are proud to be based in the US, and we have be producing products – in-house – since 1988! With CASPER’S, your product ships directly from our facilities located in beautiful Loveland, Colorado! We are happy to have you visit us any time! This is the only way we can have complete control over production times and process throughput.

Client Requirements

What if I have very specific product requirements?
No problem! Most of our customers provide us with product or packaging specifications right on their design prints. We would be happy to work with you to fulfill your requirements. Since we 100% test and inspect all harnesses, we can easily provide you with serial number tracking, or specific labeling requirements. Just let us know what you need! Chances are we are already equipped to handle it!
Can you provide me details about my harnesses?
Sure! With our dedicated inspection equipment, we will gladly provide you a report on each of your harnesses. This data can include such things as serial number, date – time stamps, point-to-point data including but not limited to connection and resistance readings, revision tracking information, or just about anything else you are looking for.
What experience do you have that can help me with my project?
With over 25 years of experience in the automotive, industrial, and agricultural fields, we can help you clearly define your requirements! Some examples of past support we have offed includes, but is not limited to: on-site engineering support; drawing / layout assistance; reverse-engineering; product sourcing; warehousing; packaging; and much more!
Can you ship internationally?

Technical Support

How do I obtain Technical Support?
All of our staff is available M-F 6:30 AM – 3:30 MST via phone. Once your product is assigned to a project manager, you will have their direct extensions to contact them virtually 24/7 via cell phone or email. We strive for rapid response from our dedicated staff to get you answers quickly!
What if I need to make an engineering change?
Since you are dealing with a responsive company in the US, and since all of our production is located in-house, we can usually implement engineering change orders (ECO’s) almost immediately! Our Production and Project managers, coupled with our in-house engineers can guide you through the process preventing unnecessary delays or roadblocks. Our internal shop floor control software allows us to track these changes and quickly and efficiently implement necessary changes.

Quality Control

Do you use SPC (Statistical Process Control)?
Many companies have asked us if we use SPC. CASPER’S Electronics does not nor intends to for one very simple reason – we don’t need to! Since it is our policy to 100% inspect all products that leave our facility, we can guarantee with absolute certainty that the product is functionally 100% accurate before it leaves our facility. Therefore, we do not find it necessary to statistically determine failures as there shouldn’t be any to begin with.
What standards are you approved to?
Currently, CASPER’S is certified to the International Standards Organization (ISO) 9001:2008, Environmental 14001:2004 and Occupational Health and Safety (OHSAS) 18001:2007. Since we believe in consistent improvement, we are currently pursuing IPC/WHMA-A-620 wire harness certification as well as Transportation Sector (TS16949) certifications.
Do you track failure rates, and if so, where are you?
Tracking of defects is part of our ISO 9001:2008 certification, and a core task assigned to our Quality Control department. We are constantly reviewing and evaluating our NCR (Non-Conformances) as well as tracking our implementation of CAR’s and PAR’s (Corrective Actions and Preventative Actions). Currently (as of February 2014), our in-the-field defect rate is 0.0002%.
How many employees are dedicated to QC?
While each and every single one of our employees is subject to rigorous quality control focuses training, we currently have 5 dedicated QC employees and 1 dedicated QC Manager on staff at all times.
